My Top 5 Travel Tips
On my most recent vacation to Dubai and Abu Dhabi (OMG was it the most amazing place I’ve been??!), I was thinking of some helpful suggestions I can give to others that might make traveling easier and more efficient. Without further ado, let’s jump right into it!
When flying, get you a hard-shell luggage with the spinner wheels. Whether it’s a carry-on or checked bag, I recommend hard-shell luggage because they are more durable (cause you know these airlines be tearing up people’s bags, I’ve had this happen). Also, the 360 degree wheels make your navigation faster, easier, and more efficient when you’re in a rush. There’s no way on God’s green Earth will you catch me running through nobody’s airport with a duffle bag - those are designated for road trips only at this stage of my life.
TSA pre-check or CLEAR if you fly often. If you’re in the Armed Forces, TSA pre-check is free for you. This also makes travel quicker and easier - you skip the long TSA line like you’re VIP + you don’t have to remove your shoes, belt, hat, earrings, arms & legs, etc. lol Apply for TSA PreCheck or CLEAR here.
Research attractions and things to do before you depart for your destination so you can have a general idea of how to spend your time. You may not want to plan every single minute of every single day of your trip, but having a general itinerary will help save time. There’s nothing like getting to your destination, discovering something you want to do, and because you slept on getting tickets or making reservations beforehand, you’ll have to hope another party cancels or commit to visiting the city again, just to partake in activities you missed out on.
While we’re on the topic of reservations, making reservations has almost become mandatory in many restaurants and attractions across the country. Due to efforts to lessen the spread of germs and control larger amounts of people in close contact in small spaces, a lot of highly-frequented cities, attractions, & restaurants are requiring prior reservations. It’s been quite difficult to just roll up at many reservations and attractions that we’ve been to in the last year.
Always check the projected weather for the upcoming days at your destination, especially during the transitional seasons. Even in the warmer months it never hurts to take a light jacket especially if you’re cold-natured like myself in many indoor establishments.
Now that you’re armored with a few extra travel tips in your bag (see what I did there? lol), I’m wishing you some happy, fun, relaxing, & safe travels! 🙂 Bon voyage!
